Occupational Health Service

The Occupational Health Service provides advice and support to all University staff, post docs and certain groups of undergraduate students [medical and veterinary students] focusing on the promotion of health and wellbeing and prevention of ill health at work.

Occupational Health practitioners provide confidential advice and support with regards to health problems that could affect or impact on an individual’s ability to do their job.  This may include fitness for work, returning to work after illness, ill health retirement, work-related illness and the control of occupational hazards.

Advice may include workplace adaptations, modifications or equipment that will help to ensure that that the work environment is safe and that a person’s health is not adversely affected by their work activities, or referral to other support services e.g., Staff Counselling Service.
