Personal and Professional Development

We deliver practical and relevant development opportunities to academic staff, support staff, professional service staff, leaders and managers, research staff and students. The training and development we offer aims to help individuals explore their potential and get the most from their time at the University.  It covers a broad range of topics and aims to:

  • Enhance individual’s wellbeing at work by helping them to identify and develop a range of skills, supporting them in their current role and working towards achieving their career aspirations
  • Strengthen communication skills to enable constructive conversations and promote positive working relationships
  • Reduce stress by supporting staff to develop skills in effective problem solving and dealing with change
  • Provide opportunities to learn from and with others who face common challenges, building a broad network of staff who can share good practice
  • Support managers at all levels to create an environment that optimises their own and others’ wellbeing and effectively enhance motivation, performance and overall job satisfaction
